Inaugural 3 Rivers Tour

Inaugural 3 Rivers Tour 2023. This event aimed to bring together motorsport enthusiasts and showcase the scenic beauty of the surrounding region. The tour featured a unique route that navigated through three major rivers in the area, providing participants with a challenging yet enjoyable experience.

The 3 Rivers Tour attracted a diverse group of participants, including professional drivers, amateur enthusiasts, and families. A total of 27 teams registered for the event, with each team comprising a driver a navigator and in some cases a passenger. This enthusiastic response from participants was a testament to the event’s appeal.

The tour spanned approximately 120 miles, encompassing the picturesque landscapes of the Llandovery region. The route incorporated sections along the Towy, Bran, and Usk rivers, providing drivers with an exhilarating mix of winding roads and breathtaking scenery. The well-planned route challenged participants’ driving skills while ensuring their safety.

The event kicked off at 8:00 a.m. from The Owl’s Nest with a Bacon roll or cake and tea or coffee. The first team set off at 9:15 a.m., and subsequent teams departed at 1-minute intervals. Throughout the day, participants followed a predetermined schedule, which included rest stops and checkpoints to ensure everyone stayed on track. The tour concluded at 6:00 p.m. at The Castle Hotel Llandovery with a celebratory dinner and awards for the on route quiz.

Breathtaking scenery

One of the primary highlights of the 3 Rivers Tour was the breathtaking scenery encountered throughout the route. Participants witnessed the natural beauty of the riverside landscapes, including lush greenery, rolling hills, and captivating water views. This aspect added an extra layer of enjoyment and made the tour a memorable experience for all.

While the tour focused on exploration and enjoyment, it also embraced a competitive element in the way of a on route Quiz. Participants had the opportunity to showcase their investigative skills and compete for the title of the best-performing team. A series of challenging Questions along the route tested their abilities and added an exciting element to the event.

The 3 Rivers Tour fostered a sense of camaraderie and provided an excellent platform for networking among motorsport enthusiasts. Participants had the chance to connect with like-minded individuals, share their experiences, and build relationships within the community. This aspect of the event contributed to its overall success.

The tour not only showcased the natural beauty of the region but also brought together motorsport enthusiasts to celebrate their shared passion. Llandovery Motor Club can take pride in the successful execution of this Inaugural 3 Rivers Tour 2023 and look forward to organizing another exciting tour next year.

Autotest No 2 2023

Autotest Championship Llandovery Motor Club

Autotest championship Round 2 took place on Sunday at Tynllwyn farm Myddfai.

With 8 tests comprising of different surfaces through the yards and barns of the farm, for our competitors to get their teeth into.

There was great competitive driving, and good to see a mix of classes including ladies and junior competitors.

8 finishers out of 9 starters, everybody thoroughly enjoyed the days motorsport and banter, a big thanks to Llandovery Motor Club Marshalls and organisers.

Award winners 1st overall 1st front wheel drive Ben Davies, 2nd overall 1st rear wheel drive Lynn Jones, 3rd overall 1st novice Rob brown, 6th overall Colin Evans 1st standard production, 7th overall first junior Lori Williams, 8th overall 1st ladies Louise Wride.
